Mario Romoda
In order to explore his interest in art, he enrolled at the School of Applied Arts and Design in Osijek, where he received prominent awards at national drawing competitions, and in 2004 won the generational award as the best third-year student in Croatia. After graduating from high school in 2006, he enrolled in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He is finishing his third year of study under the mentorship of prof. Duje Jurić and receives the award for the best ALU student. He enrolls in the graduate study of painting under the mentorship of prof. Zoltan Novak, where through experiments and studies on a styrofoam background he finds his home medium through which he conducts his commentary, review, and sometimes fascination with certain elements of capitalist and sensationalist society. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2012. Throughout his career as a freelance artist, he has had 10 solo exhibitions in Croatia and numerous group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad, of which Cre-art residencies in Lithuania and Macedonia stand out. Through his work, Mario Romoda strives not to limit himself to one style and direction, but continuously questions and deals with a topic that is always in the focus of his interest, constantly finding new angles and approaches to recurring and current topics.
